Moneoa "Pretty Disater (Da Capo's Remix2)" [Directed By Eltonnick]
Guess who's b-iz-ack (I'm a Young Jeezy fanatic, case you ain't noticed yet)! But after a hell of an absence, I'm glad to say the aristocratic on (me, of course) is back on his bloggery stuff. I've been lazy. I've been busy. Preoccupied even. But I have never stopped showing love to the music coming from the greatest country on earth.
Speaking of which, Moneoa (Mo-ne-wah). A pretty girl from Durban, South Africa is currently killing the scene lately with her sultry and poignant vocals. Most notably in the above mentioned song "Pretty Disaster". From her debut album, Coming From, Going To . A monster track. Even world renowned underground house producer/DJ, Nick Holder took a turn to remix the hit. Moral of the story, the summer is gonna be one hell of a pretty disaster. All thanks to a little lady named Moneoa. The above video is directed by producer/DJ/music video director extraordinaire, Eltonnick . Peep DJ Tira doing his best "Diddy-type cameo".
Also, check out production virtuoso. Da Capo's remix of the song on Tira's Ezase Afro Vol.2 compilation.
And on that note, I bid adieu. Until the next post.
Yours Sincerely

Mi Casa Live On Expresso
Lazy. Inconsistent. Uncommitted. Call me whatever you like, I don't give a muhh'fugg! I know it's been a little while (a year and 4 months) since I was last on this blog what-what, but I'm back (tentatively).
So my favcourite house music trio (I'm into that sorta thing now.) Mi Casa were on SABC3's Expresso the other day. Did an epic live performance. Applaud them....Now, Mi Casa comprises of vocalist J'Something , producer Dr Duda and Mo-T on the trumpet. Greatest combination since TLC, that's if you ask me. Just Saying. Watch as they perform their two smash hits "These Streets" and "Heavenly Sent". Check out their respective solos. J'Something hollering "Uthini Mtana'm" is just classic. They have a self-titled album out now on Soul Candi Records. Get it....
BTW, they also nominated for five, yes 5, Metro FM Awards. Best Group, Best Newcomer, Best Dance Album, Song Of The Year and Best Music Video for "These Streets". So send "Mi Casa" followed by the category to 34764 to vote for them (it's only R1.50, cheapskate!). Only applicable in South Africa, sorry.
Catch Expresso, weekdays 05:30am - 08:30am on SABC3 for you early risers.
Until later....

Reading through the paper the other day and saw some article saying something significant. That sounds like a rarity in today's Internets and tabloid age, right? Wrong. I need to give it up for The Times, a Sunday Times spin-off, for always being informative. Thank ya. Now that's through I need to tell you about this YouTube channel that did a sort-alike one of my fav TV shows The Office. It's called NotOnTVSA. Real dope, someone should get these guys to write TV shows. Have you seen how boring waching TV has become. Cotdammn! Anyway, check out their YouTube channel for some more clips.

Shit happens. And when it happens it hits fans. I'm referring to this FIFA World Cup that's keeping me and the whole world on the edge of their couches. If your country (or fav team) is still in the running "Lucky you". A lot of these big reputation teams are getting sent home packing with bruised egoes. Even four-time world champs (and titleholders), Italy got knocked out yesterday. As I said on twitter after I watched Germany get their ass whooped by Serbia, this World Cup is in Africa. It doesn't care how big you (think) are.
This World Cup also inspires a lot of opportunities. Unfortunately, it also inspires opportunities for corniness. Especially in music. I'm seeing a lot of insignificant garbage-ass music. I am, however, missing one song. Imbube's "AmaVuvuzela". That's one of the greatest "depiction" songs of this year (even though it came out 2 years ago). So I got the video to the remix featuring HHP, Young Nations, F-Eezy and Driemanskap. Real dope. Check it out. And stay tuned...
Yours Sincerely

MY BAD: Yesterday I said Pro's first album on TS records was Heads&Tails . It was DANKIE SAN . SORRY
Monday, April 19, 2010

One thing that was on everybody's (and I mean eeeverybody's lips) was Pro (formerly ProKid) not getting nominated for no awards. Zilch. Nada. Null. Besides the fact that I'm a Pro fan, dude is a staple. Not only in South African hip hop, but music in general. His absence at the awared got me WTF-ing, and SMH-ing (I love twitter). So this whole week I'm gonna quit my anti-blog tendencies (Waddup Juju) and pay homage to Mr Soweto. Five Pro videos for every day of this week. Yes, five of his best music videos. So you better stay HOTT and watch my blog.
Kicking it off today with his first single on his current label TS Records "BHAMPA" . Produced by IV League.

Proverb finally put out the video to his “Breadwinners” single from his thid album Off The Books. Firstly, I’ve been loving this track since I first heard it 6-7 months ago. Its different. It’s not something anybody can just do . It got me feelin emotional (no homo). Basically the song is nothing like Proverb’s ever put out. Plus did I mention HHP is on there, dare I say, outshining Proverb. It’s also shot at Maponya Mall, Soweto.
Moving on, I ‘m currently in the works with a website called www.getitbig.com and we are trying real hard to make a difference to the careers of budding artists. They can post their music and videos on there for exposure. Check it out for yourself, www.getitbig.com . you’ll understand it better.
Finally, my partner/artist,John Dough is putting in some studio time doing, you know, songs. Trust me when I say YOU AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ YET. Hott Stash Entertainment is burgeoning, slowly but surely. Soon you’ll be on us flies on doo-doo. You just watch. Vision. Determination. Patience. We on that. Move with our movement.

life is so so hood
Speaking of action, as I write this, it’s only 10 days left until the Confederations Cup !! I honestly can’t wait for that , as it’s gonna show what the World Cup will be like. So C’mon people let’s support our own damn selves. Do you think Ronaldinho (or any of your fav players that’s not from eMzansi) respects a fan that turns their back on home ? So you best get your vuvuzela out and learn the Siwelele (please, no Mexican waves). Make sure you always have a Rainbow Rag (the national flag, silly)hangin in your house.

Speaking of checks, can somebody tell me why Transport Minister, Sbu Ndebele, is accepting gifts worth over million rands ? Isn’t his job as PUBLIC SERVANT supposed to be about actually serving the people and not taking from the people ? To make him look like an even bigger asshole (I’m sorry, can’t respect him after that move) the faggot returned the gifts after his collar got too heated. Thereafter, our FIRST MACK PRESIDENT, Jacob Zuma said something about Sbu not returning the gifts if he felt like keeping them (Is this Zuma for real ?). Are these politicians not satisfied with the millions of our taxes (add kickbacks multiplied by bribe money) they receive yearly ? You people make me sick. Shame on you, Sbu, shame on you.
To think I suspected Mangosuthu Buthelezi of insanity when he said you the votes were being tallied at your house.
Before I go out I need to congratulate Rhythmic Elements for the achievements, y'all deserved (ke nnete).

- I’m feelin’ really sick today. No Swine Flu. I’m sick of these of these facades I hate so much. I’m talking about those people who forget that this is real life. Putting on a front like the truth won’t come to the light. You know, those people that pretend their life away. It makes me sick to my stomach. It’spathetic to wish something could happen to you, or worse wishing you could do something. Stop wishing and go out and get it done, even if you fail. Paging through a magazine and see “somebody(s)” talking about their sneaker collection. Now, I’m not a playa hater (I’m a playa hater hater), but it sickens me when I see somebody actin’ like they’re rich. You show all these sneakers and talk about how you don’t wear the same shoe twice (prick!). That’s all good if you’re set and got everything you need. But it’s not alright if you had to save to buy those luxuries. No, all these expensive things got a market they’re aimed for. C’mon , think about it, why are there brands that sell jeans for R5,000 a single pair? Because there are people that can AFFORD not to look at prices. Here are five things to consider :
If you had to save just so you could buy something you know you can’t afford,
YOU’RE FRONTIN’.
If you’ve got a bunch of expensive things and still PAYING RENT AND NOT PROPERTY TAX, you’re frontin’.
If you have an expensive lifestyle and you’re not the one paying the bond for that house you live in, YOU’RE FRONTIN’.
If you’re forever scared to put that expensive thing you bought, YOU’RE FRONTIN’.
If you live a luxurious lifestyle and your family’s at home starving, KILL YOURSELF.
Life is all about priorities, priorities, priorities. You have to plan thoroughly and follow through. If you come across challenges, adapt and take them head on. LIFE’S A GAME OF CHESS, SO TRY NOT TO LIVE YOUR LIFE AS A PAWN.

SAMA FEVER SYMPTOMS

Speaking of digits, the South African Music Awards is this Saturday (May 2), and I’m awaiting them like a pregnant mother. The 5 finalists for the highly anticipated will be announced this Worker’s Day on ONE (21:00), but after I had me a look-see into my magic 8Ball and it gave me some predictions. Here they is in no particular order :
1. DJ Cleo – “Hands Up” (C’mon, this is a DJ Cleo Production)
2. Big Nuz – “Ubala” (They did after all make you speak like you were from KZN)
3. DJ Clock – “Umahamba Yedwa” (With Tira and Soul Candi cosigning, it gets a nod)
4. Lira – “Wam Paleha” (She sells plus she’s a radio favorite)
5. Rythmic Elements – “2 By 2” (They ruled radio and they owned the Metro Awards)
That’s my 5 and I’m sticking to it (until 9PM on Friday), these people were not chosen because of favouritism. No. They were chosen cos making hits is their favourite. They’ve been the soundtrack to the nation since early 2008 and we’re still bangin’ some of them. So let’s wait until Friday so that we can await Saturday.
Check out the SAMAs this Saturday (May 2) 20:00 on SABC1
Yours Sincerely

LIFE AFTER ELECTIONS

Damn, it hurts to get your hopes crushed. You hope and hope (and hope) that your city’s team at least makes it through the season and BAM! You get disappointed so bad you feel like an orange with no juice. That’s water under the bridge and I am letting it flow, but what really is gonna have a big-ass impact on my life is the outcome of that 2009 election (damn, that’s a disappointment). Maybe I’m being a little pessimistic, maybe dude will be a better prez than he is a person. I say everybody deserves a shot (even Zuma). One person who did not deserve to get shot was COPE activist Gerald Yona, who was gunned down allegedly by ANC members a day after the elections. It hurts my heart when this happens, to a breadwinner too.
A definite winner is JOZI’s new single “Keep It Movin’”, that song is so hot even I didn’t notice it heating up. That’s definitely be one of my favorite songs for the year, even Bongz is on there motivatin. With L.E.S. nominated in the upcoming SAMAs for a couple awads including Best Video for “We On Fire”, Best Rap Album for “Fresh2Def” and the hugely contested Song Of The Year for “We On Fire”, their soon-to-be-released Muthaland Crunk 2 should bang out. Speaking of L.E.S. and the SAMAs, dude is facing some tough-ass competition in his categories (especially that Song Of The Year). But hey, anything ingenzeka, remember how HHP owned last year’s SAMAs ? Speaking of HHP, apparently he did a collabo with Fatal Hussein from 2Pac’s Outlaws. According to the Jabbaman, it’s so hot you’ll keep wipin’ your forehead (not in so many words).
One thing that is real simple is the fact that JOHN DOUGH’s ‘’ Bek’ Indlebe” is damn hott.

And with that said, I retire cos I got that fire. See y’all next time.
P.S.: Give the shower dude a shot, who knows he could “clean up” the mess made by previous prez.

AFTER EASTER
1. Another thing that’s “unbrushoffable” is SABC 3’s hilarious, new show, Last Say on Sunday. It’s hosted by Darren Maule
(yup, the lanky White dude from PLAY TV is back), and godddamn is he sarcastic as hell. The show is kinda like your regular late-night show with desk and whatnot. He pokes fun at the events that occur in the past week (from sports, music, politics, entertainment to breaking news), he also gets assistasnce from actors and comedians posing as some weird-ass individuals. Like this past Sunday (second episode), he had this dude(Fannie something) who was supposed to be some sports reporter but instead lays down his negative views. Here’s the funniest one :
Darren : What do u think about the FIFA 2010 World Cup coming to S.A. ? That has to be good with the tourists bringing in all that money.
Fannie : No, that’s bad. Those foreigners are bad for our economy, cos’ they’ll stay and take all of our jobs.
Check out LAST SAY ON SUNDAY, Sundays at 21:00 on SABC 3.
Last night also saw the second episode of another one of SABC 3‘s hot new shows. This one is an arts and entertainment show and it’s called FLASH! It basically showcases all that’s poppin’ in entertainment. Last night their “TOP 5” was on comedians, and it went as follows :
1) TREVOR NOAH
2) John Vlismas
3) David Kau
Don’t worry about the other two (good things come in threes, you know?). I simply cannot conform to this, so I made my own TOP 5, here it goes:
1) TREVOR NOAH
2) Loyiso Gola
3) Roni Modimola
4) Ntosh Madlingozi (I put on for my city, heita hola P.E.)
5) CHRIS FORRESTER (Damn, that nerd is funny)
That’s my TOP 5 and I’m stickin’ to it.
Check out, Wednesdays at 20:00 on SABC 3.
P.S.: DON’T EVER FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE TRACK I POSTED, IT’S HOTT.
Yours Sincerely
